Wilfried Gnonto on 'different' life in Leeds Wilfried Gnonto has opened up on life in Leeds, admitting that the weather is 'a bit sad', but hailed the quality of football and atmospheres he has so far encountered.
"The positive thing however is the level of football, it’s incredible. I’ve been to lots of stadiums and the atmosphere is fantastic. However, I think that abroad there is more admiration for Serie A than we think, it is a tournament that has made history and there is a lot of admiration both for Italy and for the championship itself.”
In his two seasons with Swansea City, Piroe was a part of 15th and 10th-placed finishes. Last season closed in on three points from the top six, but he’s yet to be in the thick of a trophy-hunting campaign. But Tuesday night's 1-0 home defeat to Ipswich Town has seen Russell Martin's side drop to 11th place in the Championship table with the 17 goals they have shipped in the division's worst defensive record. After the loss, former Swansea chief Martin bemoaned his side's ability to stop the first goal as he reflected on the impact this summer's relegation continues to have on his team.
