Man United have a busy fixture schedule ahead this season but they could be without Andre Onana for a run of games.
The majority of Manchester United fans didn't concern themselves with the postponement of the Africa Cup of Nations in July.
As expected, Onana was named in Cameroo's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he played the first match against Switzerland before being dropped in the second against Serbia, which he didn't agree with. The president of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto'o, formerly of Barcelona and Inter Milan, finally broke his silence on the episode in May. "It's not unusual for a player to adopt an attitude or say things that go beyond his thoughts," he said.
The saga took a new twist after those comments, as it was suggested Eto'o himself was the problem. There were further reports of his 'broken relationship' with Onana and it was claimed he'd never play again with Eto'o still as president. Onana had earned 34 caps representing Cameroon and aged just 27, it would be a shame for him not to return to international football, although coming out of retirement would have consequences for his club.
United played nine games last season during the dates that Onana could be at AFCON, meaning a No.2 stopper will be important.
