In the late 1980s, Chris Call was in Pittsburgh cutting his teeth on props for a movie starring Cesar Romero when he got his first lesson in the hazards of culinary preparation.
The role of property masters in film and TV was thrown into stark relief following the shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins with a prop gun on the set of the New Mexico-based western “Rust.” Call added: “People need to understand that they have a responsibility when they are property master, especially when it comes to safety.”
