He got his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. John’s Seminary College in California in 1967 and his master’s in elementary education from Pepperdine University in 1971. He earned his doctoral degree in educational administration in 1976 from the University of California, Los Angeles.He started at Temple in 1976 as an assistant to the dean of the College of Education.
