.BrianDeeseNEC suggested that President JoeBiden will soon make an announcement on action taken by the United States and G-7 nations to prevent global food shortages sparked by the war in Ukraine.
"It's an issue of top focus," Deese told the Washington Examiner when asked about the topic during Thursday's White House press briefing."We will have more to say on that issue in the coming days, but I don't have a specific announcement for you today."
Sanctions placed on Russian exports by the U.S. and allies caused fertilizer prices to skyrocket, prompting serious concerns over Europe's supply of wheat, corn, soy, rice, and other food products."The price of the sanctions is not just imposed upon Russia. It's imposed upon an awful lot of countries as well, including European countries and our country as well," the president added.
Biden added that the G-7 leaders would continue discussions on improving global food security in the coming weeks.
