It may be set in London, but the restaurant drama was all filmed here in Manchester
Major new restaurant drama Boiling Point is about to premiere on the BBC, bringing back the cast of the hit 2021 film of the same name. In the new series the action has moved on, with head chef Carly aiming to forge a name for herself at new restaurant, Point North.
The drama aims to explore the very real issues facing the hospitality industry right now, and for the people who work within it. That includes the mental health crisis across the high-pressure industry. Here's a look at where the team filmed for the new series, which was all shot in and around Manchester.
It was all painstakingly creted from scratch inside Space Studios in Gorton in Manchester. It was so convincing as a restaurant space though that even the stars of the show were shocked when they walked on to set to see it all. Indeed, director Phil Barantini used the REAL Jones & Son restaurant in London where there's a REAL Andy Jones in charge. Phil named Stephen Graham's character after his old chef friend.
Are real chefs involved? While the main cast in the show are all actors, there were real chefs involved in the new series. Award-winning chef Ellis Barrie, who owned the acclaim Lerpwl in Liverpool, was a consultant on the series.
