Throughout the Star Wars prequels, Anakin is primarily characterized by his role as an apprentice, but at some point after Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, he is made a full Jedi Knight. From his introduction as a young slave on the planet Tatooine, Anakin is very vocal about his desire to become a Jedi Knight. Anakin Skywalker Was Knighted Shortly After The Beginning Of The Clone Wars The Clone Wars ignited during the Battle of Geonosis, after a huge army of droids was let loose on unsuspecting Jedi. The surviving Jedi Padawans present at Geonosis, including Anakin, were all knighted soon afterward as a way to honor their bravery, and also out of necessity - wartime meant that many Jedi needed to grow up quickly and take on more responsibility.
Anakin Never Went Through The Proper Jedi Trials Many things changed for the Jedi due to the Clone Wars. They could no longer consider themselves simply peacekeepers, having to also shoulder the responsibility of leading forces into battles. Because of this, Anakin and many other Padawan learners were accelerated through their training and knighted without formally going through the Jedi Trials.
