Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott gets off a pass as he is pressured by Houston Texans linebacker Ogbonnia Okoronkwo during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, in Arlington.ARLINGTON — For most of this season, the Texans have lived in misery.
There’s a reason the Texans were 17-point underdogs entering Sunday’s game. The Cowboys were hot and the Texans were not. And they were missing their top two wide receivers in Nico Collins and Brandin Cooks. Instead, the officials ruled Moore’s knee down short of the goal line, and the Texans failed to score points on the drive.
“I knew it going to be my opportunity to step up and make plays and help this team,” Moore said. “Whenever I go into the game, that’s all I’m trying to do. Whether my role is that or slot receiver, I’m just trying to make plays. They called my number and kept throwing it to me.”Driskel was a standard gameday elevation for Sunday’s game, his third this season. Practice-squad players are allowed to be elevated a maximum of three times, according to NFL rules.
“As you see, the most productive day we’ve had offensively,” Texans coach Lovie Smith said of using two quarterbacks. “I know what the points said but we felt like we could move the ball and mix in a combination of the two.”His 28-yard touchdown pass to Amari Rodgers wasn’t the prettiest pass in the world. Driskel was rolling right when he connected with Rodgers, but he got the job done, and the score helped give the Texans a 17-14 lead in the second quarter.
