What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillén gave an update on season 5 and season 6 of the series. What We Do in the Shadows premiered on March 27, 2019, and is a spin-off series of the 2014 film of the same name directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. The series is a mockumentary that follows the daily lives of four vampires who are roommates in Staten Island.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an interview with Screen Rant, Guillén, who plays the vampire Guillermo, gave an update on What We Do in the Shadows season 5. Guillén explained the show has been renewed for seasons 5 and 6 but is still early in the production process. However, the time is passing quickly and season 5 is already halfway through filming.
Well, we just got picked up for season 5 and 6. We're filming 5 now, and then we definitely have 6 waiting for us. But who knows? The world could end tomorrow. But so far, so good. We're just taking it one season at a time. I can't believe that it's already season 5, because I was thinking about this... I was shooting last night, and we're halfway done through season 5 of filming. The time is just going so fast, and it's so great.
Colin Robinson and Laszlo were two characters whose stories ended on a cliffhanger. After Robinson died on his 100th birthday, he was transformed into an infant version of himself. Viewers became accustomed to "Baby Colin" and the father-son relationship that sprang up between him and Laszlo , who took it upon himself to raise the baby. However, in the season 4 finale, Baby Colin reverted to the original Robinson and lost his memories of being raised by Laszlo.
Meanwhile, season 5 will likely also explore Guillermo's ongoing conflict. As Nador's familiar, Guillermo dreamed of becoming a vampire one day. However, when he learns that he is descended from a family of famous vampire hunters, he becomes unsure of who he wants to be. His inner conflict reached a head in the season 4 finale as he seemingly decided to become a vampire.
