Though it could be an exaggeration to call the film's massive flaws offensive, they speak to the laziness in a lot of '80s horror films. The '70s was a golden age for horror, even the misses weren't that bad; but a decade later, studios pumped out anything they thought could make a few dollars on the back of something better.
