cabin crew in Portugal have voted to strike on 1, 2 and 3 April – the start of the Easter holidays for many in the UK. The airline has a fleet of 19 aircraft based in Portugal and was the number one carrier between the UK and Portugal this winter, employing more than 500 staff in the country.
According to aviation analyst Cirium, easyJet has 75 flights scheduled to depart the UK for Faro, Lisbon and Porto between 1-3 April. Most are bound for Faro, with 26 to Lisbon and 11 to Porto. The busiest departure day will be Saturday 1 April.: “As a result of the industrial action, we expect some disruption to our flying programme to and from Lisbon, Porto and Faro during the strike period.
Staff are in dispute over wages; according to Glassdoor, the average annual salary for easyJet cabin crew in Portugal is €18,000.
