West Northamptonshire Council is expected to have a deficit of over £7 million on its budget for this year, according to their latest financial report. Officers are also braced for the possibility that "we may not have seen the worst yet".

The council is predicted to overspend £6.9m in adult social care, which supports older people and those with physical or mental illness. The report highlights that more adults than ever require support, with 500 more clients since WNC was formed in April 2021.
