The reliable source claimed the attacking midfielder could now sign a short-term deal at the London Stadium after looking “very good fitness-wise” on the training pitch. Lingard previously had a loan spell at West Ham in the second half of the 2020-21 season, notching nine goals and five assists in 16 appearances.
The Irons moved to bring the ex-Man United star back to the club last season but saw their approach rejected by the England international.He joined Nottingham Forest on a one-year deal last summer but managed just two goals and two assists in 20 appearances for the Midlands side.
