Get a closer look at the Sewer Boys — the mysterious diaper-sporting creatures living in a cage in Nathan Lane's office — in a new lyric video from 'Dicks: The Musical.'
's character, Harris, reflects on his colorful past in "Gay Old Life," an upbeat, jazzy number from the upcoming movie musical.'s book: two long-lost twins discover they're brothers and conspire to trick their long-divorced parents into reuniting. "Gay Old Life" comes at a key moment in the film when Trevor learns about his father while pretending to be Craig .
The clip begins with Lane's character explaining, "I'm gay. Queer as a three-dollar bill and just as thin," which prompts some puzzled reactions. "I wake up, drink my coffee, have brunch around eleven / Walk my bichon-frisé, then nap till half-past seven," he begins to sing, before running through his social options for the evening — including a night at home with the Sewer Boys, the mysterious diaper-sporting creatures living in a cage in his office.
"The answer is perfectly clear / It's a gay old life being queer," Lane sings in the song's chorus, hilariously irrelevant from the surrounding musical anecdotes about exploring the sewers of Spain.
