WATCH: A Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy in a black and white patrol SUV raced a yellow Corvette at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison. It wasn’t close.
A 1:19 clip of the drag strip race was posted Tuesday on YouTube by Wheels and it has been watched by more than 14,000 viewers as of Thursday evening.
The C7 Z06 Corvette and the patrol SUV pull up to the starting line as Crazy Train by Black Sabbath plays over the public address system. The driver of the patrol vehicle screeches a bit of tire and the driver of the Corvette smokes the rear wheels of the supercharged V8. Just as the starting light goes green, the deputy turns on the unit’s overhead lights and the driver of the Corvette slams the gas pedal and sprints off. The patrol SUV siren is wailing, but the Corvette doesn’t slow down and it won’t be caught.
