Live updates: Warriors face Nuggets in Game 1
The Warriors are back in the playoffs for the first time since the 2019 NBA Finals.
They’ll face the reigning MVP in Nikola Jokic, whose Nuggets hold the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference. Golden State is optimistic Steph Curry will be able to play in Game 1 after suffering a sprain in his foot in a March 16 loss to the Boston Celtics. If he plays, this will be the first game in which the Warriors have had their full complement of rotation players all season long, after Draymond Green went down just as Klay Thompson returned and Curry was injured just one game after Green came back.
In Curry’s stead, Jordan Poole has played the role of volume scorer, moving without the ball to find open shots and creating offense for himself and teammates when he has the ball in his hands. Thompson and Green have also found their rhythm after the Warriors struggled for several weeks when Curry initially went down.
