Later on Monday, Warren released her own statement corroborating the CNN report. “Among the topics that came up was what would happen if Democrats nominated a female candidate. I thought a woman could win; he disagreed," she said through a spokesperson. Sanders added: "Anybody who knows me, knows that it's incomprehensible that I would think that a woman could not be president to the United States.”
