Can't get Destiny 2's The Title SMG to drop from Guardian Games? You are not alone.
It’s a heated race between Warlocks, Hunters and Titans in Destiny 2’s Olympics-like Guardian Games event, but I really don’t care about any of that. I just want some good rolls of, the new void SMG with a decent perk pool and a wholly unique origin trait that is essentially the only real prize of the entire event.
Unfortunately, other than a fixed roll that you get when completing an initial intro quest, The Title does not seem like it wants to show up…anywhere else. Originally, I thought this may be tied to the game’s confusing “weekend” split where you light torches and do a “competitive” playlist then, but it turns out it’s just bugged, and players should be seeing drops now. It doesn’t seem like anyone is.
From the replies, it sounds like no drops, anywhere, even from Gold and Platinum medals, which you would imagine would contain the SMG in their reward pool. I think they’reto, and yet without it dropping, there’s really little motivation to grind the playlist and complete these medal cards. If your goal is to get The Title, you are literally wasting your time until this is patched.
And when will it be patched? We don’t know. The above tweet references BungieHelp, but that account has not made a statement about the drops yet. The problem is that Guardian Games is just a three week long event, so the longer any hotfix would take to get here, that’s time siphoned away from being able to get this thing to drop before it disappears for another year.
