Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says clouds will thicken through the day as a cold front approaches from the west. Temperatures climb into the low to mid-80s ahead of rain and storms.
Sea breeze triggered rain and storms will advance inland by mid-afternoon, around 3 pm, from I-95 to the beaches. Then later into the evening we’ll have widespread rain and storms as a cold front moves in from the north and west.It’s the same storm system that has produced deadly tornadoes in the New Orleans area and Texas. Rain and storms continue into the evening as a cold front begins to slow and stall over our area. Everyone sees rain over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Rain and a few embedded rumbles of thunder continue into Thursday morning’s commute and through the day. Temperatures tomorrow won’t move out of the 60s in most neighborhoods. Mike says we dry out and cool down nicely for Friday and the weekend. It’ll be a beautiful dry weekend overall. Temperatures Friday will be in the low 70s and morning lows will fall into the 40s.
