They’re looking for anything from paper plates, bowls, cups and disposable cutlery, monetary donations in the form of cash or cheque , and gift cards to stores around the community like Loblaws, Shell, Co-op and Husky. One of the men originally accused of carrying out the killings, Damien Sanderson, was found dead on the James Smith Cree Nation the day after. Some people from the First Nation have since indicated he was more likely a victim than perpetrator. His brother and co-accused, Myles Sanderson, died shortly after being taken into police custody on Sept. 7.
