Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov says the allegations were 'quite strange.'

Vladimir Putin had a brief “nervous breakdown” in recent days after changing to a stronger cancer medicine, it has been claimed.

View gallery Several Russian sources claim that Putin, 70, has changed medicine he is alleged to be taking for cancer and is in a more serious condition than many understand. “Putin did not answer a knock on the door, attempts to determine what was happening in other ways did not bring results.” Putin’s “health is deteriorating” and new treatment is “impossible to delay”, he said, allegedly referring to the diagnosis of doctors.

It is known that carefully edited footage of the ‘Putin visit’ was released at least one day, and perhaps several days, after it took place. Solovey claimed Putin's successor could be the agriculture minister Dmitry Patrushev, 45, son of Putin’s top security aide and leading powerbroker Nikolai Patrushev, 71, a former FSB chief. But he says Putin failed to make him prime minister, guaranteeing his at least temporary succession if the president resigned or died in office.
