It’s a collaboration with vegan brand Melissa.
has joined forces with Brazilian brand Melissa to create a limited-edition line of shoes and bags that are not only vegan but recyclable.
The accessories born from the partnership made their official debut on the runway at the Viktor & Rolf haute couture SS20 show in Paris, making Melissa the first Brazilian brand to take part in the couture shows. The collaboration includes a romantic, textured spin on one of Melissa's most popular shoe silhouette, dubbed the Possession — a flat closed-toe sandal that Viktor & Rolf re-imagined in a pretty lace pattern.
While it definitely reminds us of our childhood jelly shoes, the Possession is so much cooler. The shoe comes in a few colorways, including gold-beige, baby pink, and aqua. The shoes are made with Melissa's signature Melfex material, which is 100% vegan and “easily disassembled and recycled.” The new take on the Possession is joined by a chic woven straw-style handbag, called the Femme High, that’s perfect for spring. The bag is available in corresponding shades so you can easily match it to your shoes. The Femme High gives off total picnic lunch vibes but would look equally fabulous when paired with a tough, rocker-chic style too. And is there anything cooler than recyclable accessories? We don't think so!This isn't the first time Melissa has worked with big-name designers.
