We believe in enabling scientists at all levels to pursue curiosity-driven research in an intellectually stimulating, diverse, and collaborative environment. Key to our success is minimal hierarchy and bureaucracy, outstanding facilities, and core funding.
Senior Group Leaders have 5-year appointments, renewable indefinitely. Candidates are expected to have an outstanding track record leading a research group, and be willing to contribute leadership and vision for the institute. All group leaders enjoy complete intellectual freedom to pursue whatever questions fascinate them, and generous core funding at the ERC level. There are no teaching obligations, but there are teaching opportunities.
