The driver of the Bentley that smashed into the Jeep, initiating the fatal five-vehicle crash, could face criminal charges. Investigators will take the case to a prosecutor, according to Cleveland police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation on Friday released videos that depicted two cars reaching high speeds just before a crash on Interstate 90 that killed a woman.
In the videos released by ODOT, the Bentley appeared to either chase or race a red Honda Civic. The Honda traveled at a high speed eastbound on I-90, and the Bentley followed. Both vehicles drove faster than the posted speed limit of 60 mph. Nelson died at MetroHealth Medical Center. The driver of the Bentley and another person involved in the crash also were taken to the hospital.
