Veronique Gabai left her role as Global President of Estée Lauder Company brands to start her own fragrance line.
Veronique Gabai spent over 20 years as a corporate executive developing beauty a fragrance lines for celebrities. Twelve of those years she spent at the Estée Lauder Companies as the Global President of Aramis and Designers Fragrances, Beauty Bank, Idea Bank. After climbing to the top of the corporate ladder, Gabai realized that the big corner office was no longer for her as she craved the creativity that came with creating fragrance and beauty brands.
She found that the fragrance industry was evolving with a serious desire for more authentic brands. She saw that evolution of the niche brand and felt called to build her own brand. “My desire was to bring an element of joy to a category somewhat serious, to add welcoming generosity to luxury, a feeling of well being and relaxation to perfect craftsmanship,” explained Gabai.
As far as what Gabai’s corporate career taught her about starting her own business, she says it helped prepare for managing the stress that comes with startups and taught her to organize and prioritize the flow of business to reach important goals.
