Damon and Stefan's onscreen chemistry proves real.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Paul Wesley reveals how his onscreen dynamic with The Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder helped improve their real life relationship. The pair, who played Stefan and Damon Salvatore respectively in the famous CW teen drama, are arguably one of the most iconic brotherly duos in television history.
"It was pretty immediate. Ian and I are totally different human beings. We’re like oil and vinegar in that sense and I think that worked well for us in a yin and yang way. It worked great for our onscreen chemistry, it worked great for sort of having the two brothers being polar opposites, yin and yang energy. We really just kind of understood, immediately, that we would work well together, and that we would create a really good, dramatic television series with our different personalities.
