At UTA, two days after Marietta and Sasley’s talk was wrecked by protesteors, the university canceled an upcoming talk the professor had scheduled on the Supreme Court, he told this newspaper. An Oct. 23 memo also mentioned concerns the dean, Elizabeth Terese Newman, had had “over the last several weeks’' over Marietta’s “interactions with my office and your public events management.”Newman said in the memo she had concerns about his scheduling of classes, as well as reliably responding to her office in a timely manner. UTA spokesman Joe Carpenter said he couldn’t comment further on the specifics of Newman’s concerns, citing personnel issues.
