The City Chambers were lit up with bright lights and laser beams every night for more than a month.But, bosses have said the display won't be held this year, as it was developed in response to Covid-related restrictions.
The city's popular Christmas light switch-on event had to be cancelled due to government guidelines, in response to the pandemic. A spokesperson for Glasgow Life said: “The Glasgow Illuminated experience was developed in response to Covid-related restrictions."This year, we’re looking forward to the in-person return of the Christmas lights switch-on, one of the city’s great festive traditions and an unforgettable way to start the countdown to Christmas in Glasgow.”
We reported yesterday that the switch-on event will take place on November 20, 2022, with ticket information to be confirmed in due course.
