Hockey legend Gordie Howe , with sons Mark and Marty, played four seasons with the Houston Aeros from 1973-77. In 1973, Gordie Howe, then 45 and already a Hockey Hall of Fame inductee, came out of his retirement , then in their second season in the World Hockey Association. The Howes played four memorable seasons in Houston, leading the Aeros to Avco World Trophy championships in 1974 and 1975 and another WHA final series appearance in their third season.
