Yurii Kompan has created a life with his wife and young son in Kirkintilloch. He is now desperate to get his mum Larissa and dad Kolya out of Ukraine where they remain trapped.
A Ukrainian father that has found a home in Kirkintilloch are desperately trying to help his parents escape the his war-torn country.
He said: “There’s a very dangerous situation in the Odesa area where many rockets and drones are landing near where my parents live. “I am desperately looking for people who would be willing to sponsor my parents so they can get a visa and come to a safe place with me.” Yurii, who was HR manager for a big telecoms company in Ukraine, is now working for social enterprise body The Wise Group, helping vulnerable people. His son attends a local school and his wife is studying English.
