North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is reportedly planning a trip to Russia this month.

The Russian justice ministry recently added Mr Muratov, a seasoned editor and co-laureate of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, to the growing list of individuals officially labelled"foreign agents." This designation is used to stigmatise and complicate the lives of people perceived as working against Russian state interests.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish president, has expressed sympathy for Vladimir Putin's standpoint and during the Sochi talks, Turkey conveyed Russia's concerns while emphasising the need to address the"deficiencies" in the initiative. But Mr Lavrov said Moscow was not satisfied with the letter. Describing Turkey's"intense" efforts to revive the agreement, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said it was a"process that tries to better understand Russia's position and requests, and to meet them."As we reported earlier, Turkish President Erdogan met with Russia's President Putin in the hopes of reviving the Black Sea grain deal, terminated by Moscow in July.

Both Ukraine and Russia are vital suppliers of wheat, barley, and sunflower oil for developing nations. Mr Erdogan's meeting with the Russian president reflects the evolving dynamics in their relationship, shaped by regional conflicts and economic interests.Analysis by John Sparks, international correspondent

What they got however at the meeting in Sochi on Russia's Black Sea coast was a simple restatement of the Russian position. The deal, which expired in July, will not be renewed said Mr Putin until Western countries remove sanctions that hamper Russia's ability to sell food and fertilisers. After a news conference following Russian-Turkish negotiations, journalists asked Mr Shoigu:"What's wrong with Surovikin, and is there an investigation underway against him?"Later, journalist Ksenia Sobchak published a photo of Mr Surovikin with his family on his Telegram channel."General Sergei Surovikin left. Alive, healthy, at home, with family, in Moscow," she wrote.
