Ahead of a September reveal, several details for UFC 5 have leaked, including an explanation for its new mature age rating.
A recent report alleges that UFC 5, the newest entry in EA’s MMA series, will arrive on October 27 – roughly one month after EA Sports FC 24 – for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Much like the previous games, though, there’ll be no PC version.
Full details will be shared via a formal reveal in September, but it’s already been discovered that UFC 5 will have an M for Mature age rating due to it featuring more realistic violence. EA’s UFC games have traditionally been given the T for Teen rating in the US. Here in the UK, they’ve always had a PEGI 16 rating, so it seems likely this will be bumped up to an 18.
This change in age rating was spotted by fans thanks to a registration form for UFC 5’s closed beta test, butSimply put, according to Henderson’s sources, it’s because UFC 5 will depict ‘more realistic aspects of damage’ and more detailed rendering, with blood pooling on the arena’s mat. In addition, fighters will receive cuts, bruising, and swelling throughout matches. They can even suffer broken noses and swollen eyes, which will affect their performance and potentially lead to doctors intervening.
