Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Britain would make it easier to export defense equipment to India
NEW DELHI—British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the U.K. would expedite defense exports to India and provide expertise to help the country build its own equipment, as the West seeks to wean the South Asian nation off its reliance on Russian military hardware.
During a visit to India on Friday, Mr. Johnson said the U.K. would streamline licensing rules for exporting defense equipment to India, slashing delivery times. Britain will provide its expertise for new Indian-designed and -built fighter jets and also support India’s maritime technology needs.
