Two teenage boys injured in West Oakland shooting
OAKLAND — Two teenage boys were wounded in a shooting Thursday after the car they were driving in was struck by bullets in a West Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
When officers arrived at the intersection of 28th and Myrtle streets, they found 12-year-old and 14-year-old boys suffering from gunshot wounds to their legs. The two managed to make to the intersection of 28th and Chestnut streets before their car’s two bullet-riddled rear tires went flat, and got out from there and walked to Myrtle Street.
At the scene Thursday afternoon, police worked to catalogue evidence of the shooting, recovering spent rounds from a blue Hyundai Elantra with a bullet hole in a rear window and more holes in its doors.
