Emyrson Flora got America’s vote to continue on in “American Idol,” following Monday night’s episode. The Walsh-Jesuit student advanced through two rounds of the competition show this week, making it from the top 14 to the top 10 contestants.
Next week will be the final week that “American Idol” airs on both Sundays and Mondays. The season finale of “American Idol” is set to air on Sunday, May 22.
Flora has impressed the judges so far, and this week she picked one song out of a batch of three, recommended by season judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. The options were “Lovely” by Billie Eilish, “Starting Over” by Chris Stapleton and “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper.“I love Billie Eilish,” Flora said in the episode. “I think it’s a little bit nerve wracking doing that song, because I do get compared to her a lot.
