New Zealand TV doctor and mental health campaigner Dr Tom Mulholland has died A TV doctor and mental health campaigner who dedicated his career to helping others has died suddenly. The family of Dr Tom Mulholland, 61, have confirmed his death on social media this week, saying they were ‘devastated’. The New Zealand celebrity physician hosted numerous TV and radio shows, penned two best-selling books and was also a public speaker.
’ He added: ‘For now, buddy, just know we are so bloody proud of the amazing life you lived and of you. The world is going to miss the hell out of you.’ Many people have paid tribute, with one broadcaster saying he was a ‘hero’ In recent years, Dr Mulholland had been travelling around New Zealand doing health checks on Kiwis wherever he went. University of Auckland Emeritus Professor of Psychological Medicine Robert Kydd said he was a passionate and tireless mental health campaigner.
