On the heels of a court victory against the Justice Department, former President Donald Trump disparaged the inquiry over his handling of classified documents as a"witch hunt."
On Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, granted Trump's motion for a special master to comb through material seized by FBI agents during the Aug. 8 search and seizure at Mar-a-Lago. The special master is tasked with filtering out any privileged material.Trump has claimed that he declassified material stashed at Mar-a-Lago prior to the raid and has vehemently denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
In addition to chastising the raid as a"witch hunt," Trump also claimed that perpetrators of the raid sought to"weaponize Law Enforcement against the 45th President."
