Heartbroken tributes to 'Pixie' - a much loved Accrington businessman with a 'mischievous streak'
and completed an apprenticeship at a garage run by Eric Lynch in Green Haworth. He could fix anything and enjoyed the problem solving side of the job and the satisfaction of making something work.
The popular mechanic fixed cars, resprayed them and would service an entire fleet of vehicles for local businesses. John grew up in Fern Gore with his brothers Stuart, David and Alan. His love for mechanics grew at a young age and John and Alan would spend time riding motorbikes when they were teenagers. The grandfather-of-three would watch bands and singers live in local venues and socialised in Accrington pubs.He loved listening to music at the weekends and would fill his home with music playing from his CDs and records. The keen traveller enjoyed family holidays in New Zealand, Egypt, Tenerife, Portugal and Spain, and went on four cruises.
He will be sadly missed by his family, also leaving son-in-laws Ryan and Nick and three grandchildren, Leah, Jack and Freya.
