Tributes paid as cops name schoolgirl who died in river tragedy

TRIBUTES have been paid to a schoolgirl who died after getting into difficulty in the River Teith in Bridge of Allan.

Nieve McIsaac was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Children's Hospital in Glasgow, where doctors battled to save her life - but she died four days later.The 14-year-old got in difficulty in the River Teith, near to Carse of Lecropt Road, Bridge of Allan on Tuesday, 12 July."She was a much loved daughter, sister, granddaughter and niece, and we have been left devastated by her death.

Detective Sergeant Craig Faulds, of Forth Valley CID, said: "This is a heartbreaking incident in which a young girl has died. "The family has asked that they be given privacy at this very difficult time and I would like to ask the public and media to please respect the family's wishes as they deal with their unimaginable loss."Most read in News
