TRAFFIC ALERT: Rollover crash involving cement truck shuts down all eastbound mainlanes of US 290 near Mason Road
– A crash involving a cement truck rolled over on U.S. 290 near Mason Road in Northwest Harris County Saturday afternoon.
According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable deputies, who is assisting Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the cement truck had lost its load during the crash. All eastbound lanes of the Northwest Freeway are currently shut down by emergency vehicles as cleanup is underway. It is unknown when they will reopen.: Constable Deputies are assisting the Harris County Sheriff's Office with a crash involving a cement truck that rolled over and lost its load in the 29300 block of the Northwest Freeway.

Washington OKs 1st statewide missing Indigenous people alertWashington Gov. Jay Inslee on Thursday signed into law a bill that creates a first-in-the-nation statewide alert system for missing Indigenous people, to help address a silent crisis that has plagued Indian Country in this state and nationwide. The law sets up a system similar to Amber Alerts and so-called silver alerts, which are used respectively for missing children and vulnerable adults in many states. It was spearheaded by Democratic Rep. Debra Lekanoff, the only Native American lawmaker currently serving in the Washington state Legislature, and championed by Indigenous leaders statewide.
