Some people love it. Some people hate it, but Daylight Saving Time still begins this weekend. Clocks will spring forward an hour.
Rochester, N.Y. — Some people love it. Some people hate it, but Daylight Saving Time still begins this weekend.
"I have to say it's my favorite time of year because it's a sign of things to come," said Karolina Lis of Rochester. "Longer hours and a little more pep in my step because of it.""Most people have a harder time with that kind of shift than the Fall where we get to sleep a little later," explained Dr. Leisha Cuddihy, an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester Comprehensive Sleep Disorder Center.
"Light is what cues our brain into knowing that it’s time to be awake for the day," said Cuddihy. "So, when the light comes an hour later, we don’t get the same biological cues to wake up at the same time as we do when it rises earlier."
