A police investigation is continuing
A threatening email which sparked lockdowns at schools across the the north west was sent to six schools in Greater Manchester, police have said. Manchester High School for Girls, Manchester Grammar and Withington Girls School were among those to receive an email which 'made threats to pupils and staff', the Manchester Evening News understands.
In a statement Cheshire police said officers would patrol schools at 'key times' today to 'provide reassurance'. A spokesperson said: "An investigation into a malicious email sent to a number of schools in the Chester and Ellesmere Port areas on Tuesday, September 12, remains ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
