The Botanic Gardens will be turned into a magical global garden for Sunday's Mela Day
Belfast Mela is the city’s annual celebration of global cultures when tens of thousands of visitors come together to celebrate our people and diversity.
The event marked the start of a week-long wonderland of culture and creativity, finishing with Sunday's annual August bank holiday weekend festival finale at Botanic Gardens. Come together with thousands of people for a vivid, powder-throwing, multi-colour frenzy and share in music, dance, performance art, and visual stimulation for an unforgettable experience of unity, diversity, inclusion.
Look out for the new Little Asia Corner plus a special Mughal Miniatures performance along with performances and workshops by Mexican Artist in residence Paula Herrera Martinez from Danzariega working with local artist Mayte Segura, a renewable fashion show Culture Clash with Another World Belfast, international food demonstrations and the premiere of the South Asian Dance Academy’s new Bombay Dreams original finale.12.
