This Rock Star's First Line In A Red Carpet Interview Is A Big Monday Mood
That was Robert Smith, the lead singer of The Cure.into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Friday.
The Cure, famous for songs such as “Close To Me”, “Boys Don’t Cry”, “In Between Days” and “Friday I’m In Love”, were inducted alongside Stevie Nicks, Janet Jackson, Radiohead, Def Leppard, Roxy Music and The Zombies. Smith appeared on stage with current and past members of the band and called the event “very much a surprise”.
But really, all everyone wanted to talk about was Smith's opening remark to a reporter on the red carpet before the ceremony began.
