The parent company of Alabama Power topped the list of Alabama's 15 best employers.
Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 70,000 workers at companies in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, according to the report.
“Southern Company is honored to be recognized by Forbes as the best employer in Alabama,” said Chris Womack, president & CEO of Southern Company. “This accolade is particularly rewarding because it is directly based on employee feedback. According to the Alabama Retail Association, Books-A-Million has a total workforce of more than 5,400, with more than 1,000 in Alabama.
