Her earnings included a £408,200 cheque from Cambridge Speaker Series in return for six talks in California, plus the costs of accommodation and flights for her and a member of staff. In second place was Geoffrey Cox – the lawyer who was criticised last year for juggling MP duties with lucrative work representing the British Virgin Islands at a corruption inquiry. He was paid £2,191,387 from nine law firms and a local Conservative association.
