People travel thousands of miles to visit Mrs Johnson's Emporium
Blackpool's Bond Street has looked a bit worse for wear in recent years is something its occupants will admit.
"I took over so my dad would actually take some time and look after himself. He was dying of cancer but he still wanted to look after the shop. So me taking over was the only way I could look after him, or make him look after himself. Susanne has also always been a huge advocate for local businesses. They sell the wool of another Fylde business, Coastal Colours who create stunning wool of all different colours. They also stock Lancashire wool, which has been sheared and collected in Lancashire. The Emporium also stocks over 8000 different types of buttons, with Susanne joking that there's over 8 million individual buttons in the shop.
Before her she took over the business, Susanne was first a hotel manager, and then an International Education Consultant. Susanne says that she believed that with this experience under her belt, she would be able to improve the rapidly declining Bond Street, adding because Burl Ives had written a song titled Mrs Johnson's happiness Emporium, it was fate that she was to set up her business here.
