I’ve been a Democrat for most of my life. I’ve also owned guns for most of my life and I don’t want anyone to take away the one that I own.
It is the truth that the leaders of the National Rifle Association and the gun manufacturers are engaged in a conspiracy to block reasonable measures that would help to keep guns out of the hands of maniacs who committed the recent atrocities in Buffalo, New York and Uvalde, Texas.
It is true that other countries have mass gun violence from time to time. But no advanced country has anything like the serial massacres that are occurring in the U.S. In less than five months this year, we’ve had 27 school shootings and a total of over 200 mass shootings.
