In the same vein, both Jean and Wanda are offered greater power than they ever thought possible while also being corrupted into using said power in all sorts of destructive ways, ultimately causing pain as they gradually evolve into villains. As such, both have to be taken down by former allies. However, they both also have final moments of redemption as well, becoming stronger than the corruption by sacrificing themselves .
