Scorpion hasn't been in the MCU since Spider-Man: Homecoming, but a rumored Spider-Man 4 storyline could be the perfect way to fix the villain.
Scorpion has been a problem since his introduction in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but the MCU already has a perfect way to fix him in Spider-Man 4. After the massive events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, rumors have been circling that the MCU's next Spider-Man film will be more grounded, telling one of the character's classic street-level stories.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Michael Mando made a brief appearance playing Mac Gargan in Spider-Man: Homecoming, acting as a common criminal that gets taken down by Spider-Man. However, the post-credits scene showed Mac reuniting with Vulture in prison, with the two making plans to take down Spider-Man.
Ever since his MCU reintroduction in Hawkeye, rumors and theories have been circling that Kingpin will be the villain in Spider-Man 4. Having Kingpin hire Scorpion would work perfectly, as Kingpin has the money and the criminal connections to get Mac Gargan out of prison and to get him a Scorpion suit. Although Kingpin wouldn't be a huge physical threat to Spider-Man, Scorpion would, meaning that the two villains would perfectly complement each other in the Spider-Man 4 story.
J. Jonah Jameson Wouldn't Work As Part Of Scorpion's Story Although he is essential to Scorpion's origin story in Marvel Comics, J. Jonah Jameson shouldn't play that role in the MCU. J.K. Simmons' J. Jonah Jameson is too beloved to have him play an outright villain in Spider-Man 4, with the character working much better as a slightly antagonistic wacky side character. Having him hire someone to kill Spider-Man is uncharacteristic of the MCU's J. Jonah Jameson.
J. Jonah Jameson's role in Scorpion's story also wouldn't work because it just doesn't make sense. Jameson's connections to the experimental Scorpion process are never really explained in Marvel Comics, and it would make even less sense in the movies. Although he's a jerk, Jameson has no obvious connections to the MCU's criminal underworld, especially with people that have the ability to give Scorpion his powers.
